Dr. Chalasani is Board Certified in interal medicine and gastroenterology, and he has a special interest in irritable bowel syndrome and acid reflux disease.
Dr. Ramu Chalasani was raised in Southern Louisiana and considers himself a true southern gentleman. Dr. Chalasani obtained his medical degree from Kempegowda Institute of Medical Sciences, Bangalore, India, but returned to Lousiana to complete his residency and fellowship at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in Shreveport.
In 2004, Dr. Chalasani was the American College of Gastroenterology Governor’s Award recipient for Excellence in Clinical Research. He was also recognized for his research linking diabetes to cancer, which was reported in USA Today and WebMD.
In 2012, Dr. Chalasani and his family moved to The Woodlands area, and he makes it his mission to earn the trust of his patients, his staff, his coworkers and his community. He relies on evidence-based medicine and is dedicated to patient-centered, compassionate care. He sees his patients as whole people, not just illnesses.
